Twitter has been buzzing with congratulatory messages for the Black Stars after they managed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup to be hosted by Qatar.
The Senior National team drew 1-1 with the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Abuja on Tuesday to sail through to the World Cup after a goalless draw last Friday in Kumasi.
Shortly after the game, the #BlackStars has been trending number one on Twitter with over 200k tweets.
President Akufo-Addo took to his Twitter page to congratulate the Black Stars.
Warm congratulations to the Senior National Football Team, the Black Stars, for their dogged display in Abuja, and qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. I am very proud of the team’s exploits. They have made the entire nation proud.

Tactically sensitive. Master class strategist. Brilliant reading. Discipline play. Excellent delivery.
On a day when the other Addo let us down, you’ve lifted our moods. For your sake, E-levy won’t dominate the news tomorrow.
