Four persons are to appear before court in the case in which a 32-year-old woman formally got married to two different men in Ghana.
They are Patience Belinda Gyamfi - the lady at the centre of the saga - her father, and two other people who signed the second marriage certificate as witnesses.
A reliable source, at the Greater Accra Headquarters of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service told The Finder newspaper that the four are expected to be arraigned before court next week on charges of bigamy.
Bigamy is a misdemeanour and carries a maximum sentence not exceeding more than one year or a fine.
Patience Belinda Gyamfi got married to Maximus Anumah, a staff of the 37 Military Hospital, in 2012 and to Audrey Atikpo in January 2013 while she was still married to the former.
Her marriage to Maximus was held at a church in Labadi and registered at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) while the second marriage was registered in Somanya in the Eastern Region.
