Ghana’s sensational Hip life trio 4x4 have premiered their first single off their up coming album, Waist and power on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz 103.7 FM ahead of its release date. The first single which happens to be the title track of the album to be released in the second quarter of the year does not deviate from the party style of 4x4’s music. The album would be the first under their new record label, X4 records. The group decided to give their loyal fans a special preview of their much anticipated album and thus, their decision to have the song premiered and aired first time on Day Break Hitz on Hitz 103.7 FM. Asked why they decided to premiere the song on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM the group said, Daybreak Hitz is definitely the best entertainment morning show in the Capital and we feel very privileged to have this opportunity to let our fans have a feel of what is coming at them from our new label." The group, made up of Sylvanus Didji Jeoffrey aka Captain Planet, Russell Avornyo stage named CoDED and Prince Tamakloe, known in showbiz as Fresh Prince, is counting on the successes of their last album, World Trade Centre to reach even greater heights with their latest album, Waist and Power in 2011 and beyond. “This album has elements completely different from our previous releases; we put a lot of thought into the subject matter, appeal and rhythm of the songs; it’s a whole new 4x4” commented Captain Planet. He also stated that the hit song was dedicated to all the hard working men in the country saying the song was meant to celebrate the black man from all walks of life. The Host of the Daybreak Hitz, Louis Sakyiamah aka Lexis Bill also described the song "as a groovy and danceable party tune that is bound to hit every music lover and turn the heat up at every party." The group’s 2010 single, Miss Doctor has been nominated for the Afro Pop song of the year at this year’s edition of the Ghana Music Awards. Captain Planet expressed optimism at winning the awards since they had put a lot of work in their song but intimated that the best song would pick the award. Known for their hit songs like Kpekpele,Repkete, Odo Fita, Contestant number one and Hot Girls dot.com, 4x4 is already busy finalizing tour dates and several activities with their brand partners Airtel ahead of the album’s release.
