T.I Ahmadiyya, Ekumfi has closed the gates for Central region schools heading to Accra for the prelims of the National Science and Maths Quiz.
The contest, held in the regional capital, Cape Coast Friday evening, was the last of two days of qualifiers for the region.
The Ekumfi-based school scored an impressive 47 points to leave nothing but dust behind them.

That is a leapfrog performance for them considering their poor performance in 2018. They were ousted at the regionals after scoring only 17 points.

Kwanyako Senior High who placed second in today’s contest only garnered 19 points, way lower than the tally of the victors.
Despite no consolation for medals for them, they can take solace in the fact that the still beat Gomoa Senior High and Technical Schools (SHTS) and Abakrampa SHTS who only scored 11 points each.
But even they can tell those at home that they did not place last. They beat Mando SHTS who could only pick 7 points from the four round contest.
In the penultimate contest for Central region, Boa-Amponsem SHS delivered a 37 points-win.

They faced no threat from second-placed Jukwa SHTS who only scored 19 points. Swedru School of Business finished with 11 points while fourth-placed Assin Nsuta SHS scored 8 points.
