The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) with assistance from the Ashanti Regional Police have arrested of gospel artiste, Brother Sammy, to assist in investigations following claims of having a cure for a number of chronic diseases including HIV/AIDS.This action comes after the gospel artiste was seen in a series of videos circulating on social media in which he is seen advertising his cure for some illnesses.Brother Sammy who calls himself 'the nation worshipper' was been promoting a medicine he labelled 'divine healing water'.According to him, the medicine can cure HIV, Asthma, Gonorrhoea, Hepatitis B, Diabetes and even cancer.The musician in his latest video which has since gone viral on social media is seen mixing DDT with water and his holy water.He entreated Ghanaians to purchase his medicine since it can cure even people who have taken the deadly 'DDT' substance. In an interview, he claimed his medicine has cured over 50 people already.However, in a statement Saturday, the Authority said it has not registered the healing water nor has it given the Brother Sammy the permission to sell to the general public.With investigations ongoing, FDA is urging the general public to contact them if they have relevant information on the issue or report any FDA related issue.They also advised the people to stay away from the product or any of such unapproved products because their claims cannot be substantiated.
