US gospel singer, songwriter and producer, Jonathan Nelson, after his experience at Joe Mettle’s Wind of Revival, says he feels he belongs here in Ghana.
In an exclusive interview with Joy News’ Becky, the singer says he is overwhelmed by the reception he received upon his arrival and that he felt at home.
The singer described his experience at Joe Mettle’s Wind of Revival as amazing.
The singer who is in the country to perform for the first time added he has a strong connection with Ghana, “there is such history beyond music.”
Explaining how he met Joe Mettle, Jonathan Nelson explained he heard a song of Joe Mettle in a studio in Nigeria and was shocked and wanted to connect with him as soon as possible.
“Get him on the phone right now,” Jonathan recounted what he said after listening to Joe Mettle’s song and got in touch with him.
He recounted telling the ‘My Everything’ singer how much of a fan he was after listening to his work, “we have got to connect.”
Jonathan Nelson said he downloaded Mettle’s music and they exchanged information and built a relationship.
He also revealed what he had learned from Joe Mettle and was impressed with the way African gospel singers take music seriously.
Coming from a family of ministers and musicians, he topped charts in 2013 with his third album, ‘Finish Strong’.
