The R&B singer, Chris Brown has finally decided he needs help to control his anger.
The singer who was arrested in Washington, D.C., on Sunday after he and his bodyguard allegedly got into an altercation with a man outside of the W Hotel, "has elected to enter a rehab facility," his rep tells omg! in a statement.
"His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point."
According to Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, the 24-year-old Grammy winner is being treated for anger issues.
"We talked today and he said, 'I want to take some time and do a little introspection and understand everything that's going on around me,'" Geragos told the New York Daily News. "It was his decision, and he should be applauded."
On Monday, the assault charge against Brown stemming from the weekend brawl was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor. He has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the man he is accused of attacking, and is due back in court on November 25.
Since Brown is still on probation for the 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna, any arrest could lead to jail time for the singer, who hasn't exactly been on his best behavior.
In May, he was accused of a hit-and-run following a minor accident in L.A., where the driver claimed he "went ballistic" after his Range Rover rear-ended her Mercedes. Though the charge was dismissed, Brown wasn't happy when he was sentenced to an additional 1,000 hours of community service after officials accused him of not having completed the 1,400 hours of "labor-oriented service" he was ordered to do as part of his 2009 assault rap.
