The fifth edition of the now Christmas ritual, Joy FM Keteke Fever came off at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Thursday night - Boxing Day - and what a night it was.

It was that one and only night big men and women became youths.

The Banquet Hall, the new venue for the event which used to take place at the Foyer of the Accra International Conference Centre, was filled with a sea of energy-filled business and political personalities who still possessed a never-quenching youthful exuberance.

The night saw the country’s heavyweights and bigwigs falling under the spell of the good old 70s and 80s music dished out by DJs for the night, Nii Ayi Tagoe, and Paul Ankrah of former Club Keteke fame.

The DJs knew what patrons wanted and they served them hot. Hit songs from the glorious era, such as ‘Holiday’, ‘Now That We Have Love’, ‘Rhythm of the Night’, ‘All Night Long’, ‘Coffee’, ‘Ring My Bell’, ‘Electric Slide’, ‘I Want To Be Rich’, awoke the dancing nerves of patrons who found it very difficult to resist the dancing temptations the night had to offer.

The Joy FM Keteke Fever was that time machine which teleports the old to a youthful era where several dance moves, including the Electric Slide, were relived.

The 70s and 80s were also unique for their fashion scene and the night never lacked that. Patrons wore bell trousers with afro hair styles to match and for the women who went back to the infant age of mini-skirts did truly bring their sexy game on!

Aside this year’s grandeur venue and the abundant good music, patrons at this year’s event received free complementary drinks, pepper soup and grills to while away a fantastic 2013.

After such an exciting experience, patrons as usual gave organizers, Joy FM, a thumb up for giving them a thrilling experience.

Some patrons who spoke to Joy News after the event said they had so much fun. A male patron said: “I think it was an excellent show. The music was perfect, and I think the crowd was dressed to the point.” A female patron added, “I’ve had so much fun,” promising to bring her husband to the show next year.
