Emmanuel Frimpong has told Arsene Wenger he wants to leave Arsenal before the close of the transfer window – because of a lack of game time.
The midfielder, who is a product of Arsenal’s academy setup, was tipped for a bright future after breaking into the first-team squad.
But after a number of injury problems combined with failed loan spells at Wolves, Charlton and Fulham, he has found himself down the pecking order.
And according to Sky Sports, the 22-year-old has made it clear to Wenger he wants a permanent exit this month – and the offers are already flooding in.
It’s understood that two Premier League teams are in for the defensive midfielder, while a number of Championship outfits, including Ipswich Town, are keen.
Frimpong will be best remembered among Arsenal for his antics on social media, which have caused controversy in recent months.
