Gospel musician, Celestine Donkor and rapper Edem have joined forces to release a classic tribute song in honour of the late iconic broadcaster, Komla Dumor.
The broadcaster, who until his death was the host of 'Focus on Africa' on the BBC, passed away at his home in London on Saturday, January 18 at age 41.
The song, 'U Live In Our Hearts', is written, composed and recorded by Joe Amoah of Springboard Studios.
The two artistes, Celestine Donkor and Edem managed to successfully deliver their lines for the song within 24 hours - from Friday night to Saturday night.
Celestine Donkor explained to Myjoyonline.com that Komla's pious deeds and service to humanity largely inspired the song.
According to her, "I never got the opportunity to meet him but hardly a day went without me tuning in to listen to Komla on the SMS (Super Morning Show on Joy FM). I've been looking forward to read Komla's book."
The gospel musician added that, Komla was an inspiration to many and even "though he is gone, his deeds and achievements remain in our hearts."
Rapper Edem hinted of the song during an interview with Myjoyonline.com last week when came to Joy FM to sign the book of condolence opened in honour of Komla Dunor.
Edem described Komla Dumor's death as "a really great loss. I see him to be on a journey, he was supposed to complete the journey, come back home and be able to impact more when he has retired from whatever he is doing and he is now resident in Ghana."
He noted that because of Komla's depth and wealth of knowledge, Ghana would have benefitted immensely from his understanding of "economics, politics, agric... I feel that a vacuum is going to be there," and it will be very difficult to fill.
