Just hours after Nigerian music artiste Davido, downplayed reports that there is a heated beef between him and fellow artiste Wizkid, the latter has thrown another jab at the former.
Over the past weeks, the two artistes have taken to microblogging site, Twitter to throw jabs at each other over what many say is a superiority or rather popularity contest.
Camps of the two artistes joined the fray and traded subliminal jabs among themselves. Watchers of the entertainment industry believe the development is unhealthy.
Speaking for the first time on the feud in an interview with Sahara TV, Davido known for several hit songs, including ‘Aye’, said he holds nothing against Wizkid whom he accused of creating bad blood between them.
According to him, the development between them is "not beef at all… to me everything you do, you don't hit your brother down, that’s something you don’t do.”
Davido explained that, “This is the first time I'm saying this but the only reason I was upset was because of the NY (New York) concert. I was even going to tweet like you know ‘make sure everybody turn up for my brother Wizkid’s concert’ and he threw a shade like that. I'm not going to take that so that's why I went and said what I said.”
Nevertheless, the artiste said he bears no grudges against Wizkid, born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, and that he fully supports him.
“But it's all cool you know, at the end of the day, we got to keep it on the music. Shout out to him. I'm still a big fan. He is doing his thing,” Davido, born David Adeleke, stated.
While the ‘Aye’ hit singer stressed that the beef “was never nothing”, he warned that “but don't throw a shade at me... especially when we were on the same flight earlier.”
In what seems to be a clear response to that interview, Wizkid took to twitter Wednesday to throw a jab at Davido stating he has no time for him.
“Dumb ni**as catch feelings! we just tryna make it over here! Nobody got time for that! ATL turn up!,” 'The Matter' hit singer tweeted.
