Wins over Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Hull, Stoke and Southampton have catapulted Manchester United up to third place, but the visit to Liverpool represents another acid test. 

At present it is United who have the upper hand on their bitter rivals.

Chelsea return to Stamford Bridge looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season against Newcastle last Saturday, and face a Hull side with just one win since the opening day of the campaign. 

Arsenal can register a sixth victory in a row over Newcastle when they host Alan Pardew’s side on Saturday.
