The Minister of Communication is urging musicians across the country to join in the fight against the novel coronavirus.
Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, speaking at a press conference Tuesday, said it would be helpful for Ghanaian artistes to educate and entertain people while a lockdown is in place.
She said the lockdown presents is an opportunity for musicians to give back to the society using their talent.
She stressed “those are the skills they [musicians] also have [to put smiles and hope on people's faces]”
The Minister's comments come on the back of the virtual concert organised on Monday to launch the GH Covid-19 Tracker app.
She thanked the musicians who made it to the launch to perform and entertain viewers at home.
“The feedback we got was that quite a number of people appreciated the performances and through that, they also learnt a bit,” Ursula Owusu-Ekuful added.
Meanwhile, entertainers including CJ Biggerman, Naa Ashorkor, Clemento Suarez and some others have released songs or skits to educate the public on the virus.
