The CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS).
Yofi Grant has been given a two-year mandate to represent West Africa on the board as an External Independent Member for the Organisation's Endowment and Trust Fund.
The appointment was confirmed at the 929th meeting of the Committee of Ambassadors (COA) of the OACPS, held on June 23.
The ETF is a trust fund that has been established to assist member states of the OACPS to become financially independent by diversifying its funding resources beyond the assessed contributions of members states.
The fund was formally launched at the 9th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the OACPS held in Nairobi, Kenya in December 2009.
Meanwhile, Ghana has been an active member of the Organisation since it was formed in 1975.
Ghana, however, has pledged €100,000 as her contribution to the fund.
The OACPS currently, is the largest trans-national and tri-continental Organization of developing countries on the international scene.
It has 79 members countries from Africa, Caribbean and the Pacific.
