Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), and the Methodist University College Ghana (MUCG) have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at renewing and expanding affiliation partnership.
The MoU, will among other things ensure an affiliation for postgraduate programmes leading to the award of Master’s degree.
The programmes in the affiliation partnership to be offered by the Methodist University include M.A. Educational Administration and Supervision, M.Phil. Education Administration, M.A. Educational Leadership and School Improvement, M.Phil. Educational Leadership and School Improvement, M.A. Educational Assessment and Evaluation, M.Phil. Educational Assessment and Evaluation, Ph.D. Educational Assessment and Evaluation, Ph.D. in Education, M.A. Entrepreneurship and Corporate Strategy, and M.Phil. Entrepreneurship and Corporate Strategy.

Speaking at the signing ceremony at the UEW, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni, expressed delight in having the Methodist University on board again.
“This is a very happy moment in the life of any University when our friends come to say to us that they appreciate the relationship and would like to have it extended.”
He indicated that the UEW is determined to ensure that it discharged its obligation of mentoring affiliate institutions with distinction.
“As an institution, we don’t only train our own; we also help others to train theirs and once we are forging that kind of relationship and affiliations, we know that it is not only in the interest of Methodist University but is also in our interest to ensure that we spread our network."

Rev. Anthony Afful-Broni was convinced the cooperation will not just end at the signing ceremony but serve as the springboard for more programmes to be developed between the two institutions.
The Registrar, UEW, Lawyer Paul Osei Barima, reiterated that the most important thing for tertiary education was forging collaborations in the field of academia.
“As we are here to renew our MoU, it is going to reinforce our commitment to the relationship between the two universities.
"That is how the universities come in and go.
"Today you are a university college, tomorrow you will be a full-fledged University and we will do a lot of things in common and be crisscrossing.
"You will be doing a lot of assessments for us as; we will be doing a lot for you. We shall depend on each other to build a better industry,” he said.
