The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bui Power Authority, Fred Oware says the passage of the Bui Power Authority bill will help diversify the financial streams of his outfit.
According to him, the diversity that comes along with the passage of the bill promises an increase in revenue in the coming years.
He advised that the Authority be high on cash flow to ensure its sustainability, in the event that the Bill is passed.
“We think that we should operate quite profitably, not only in terms of making profit but having the cash flow to finance our capital expenditures.
According to him, the Bill is important because the new Act would allow the Authority the flexibility to do business locally, internally or externally.
This he says has been a matter of grave concern that needed to be cured by putting it before Parliament.
"We actually took our matter there and argued and thankfully they saw the point that we made so, with the new Act, we have the freedom to look out for other off-takers who are prepared to do business with us whether locally, internally or externally," he said
The bill empowers the Authority to develop renewable energy and other clean energy alternatives in the country.
