The Bono East Regional Security Council has urged all political parties and the media to refrain from activities that could result in violence post-election 2020.
"We appeal to all stakeholders, opinion leaders and the media to refrain from engaging in all acts utterances that have the potential to incite supporters to resort to violence."
In a press release issued December, 15, the Council condemned all violent incidents that took place in its regional capital, Techiman and other parts in the country.
According to the Techiman Police, 2 deaths and 4 injured persons have been recorded during the just-ended elections.
The Council expressed its condolence to families of the bereaved and promised to assist affected families with the necessary support.
In its statement, the Council also disclosed that “all violent incidents, including the shooting are being investigated by the Regional Election Security Task Force.
"All persons with any evidence in respect of the incident are entreated to make them unavailable to the Regional Police CID."
The Council urged all persons to go about their day-to-day activities as the Security personnel have put down measures to prevent any future happenings.
Despite several acts of violence during the elections, the Council applauded Ghanaians for their cooperation in ensuring a peaceful election.
Also, the Council appealed to political parties to resort to peaceful alternatives in settling disagreements and disputes.
"We appeal to all aggrieved persons/political parties to use peaceful means to resolve and address their grievances and advise their supporters to desist from engaging in violent activities to disturb the peace of the Region."
