The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) will be relying on the integration of its biometric card and other technology systems to improve service delivery.

This is expected to help clampdown on illegal operators in the system and also boost revenue for the country.

Acting Director of Finance at the DVLA, Andrews Denteh disclosed this after the authority received the honours as best state owned enterprise in customer experience at the 10th World Marketing Awards in Accra.

“There were problems where people would come up with their own number plate and sometimes duplicate number plates and I can tell you that part of the digitisation process will help us deal with the challenge”.

“We believe that, with the use of technology and collaboration with our stakeholders, the police and so on, all these leakages will be blocked and the necessary revenue will come to the DVLA or the state”, he said.

The World Marketing Awards in the last 10 years have celebrated brands and individuals that excel in their field through innovation, value addition and service delivery.

After emerging the best State Owned Enterprise in Customer Experience for the year, the DVLA said work is ongoing to ensure that majority of its operations are digitised, a situation that will help clampdown on users of fake vehicle number plates and thereby block all revenue leakages.

Other award winners for the night includes, MTN, Standard Chartered Bank, Absa Bank and Unilever.

Chief Executive of Instinctwave, organizers of the event, Akin Naphtal told Joy Business that marketers need to be celebrated at this time for the effort in pushing their brands and products despite the challenge.

The award is themed: celebrating a decade of brands and individuals that have worked tirelessly and passionately.
