The National Petroleum Authority has indicated that it is considering a review of the Act that established it to deal with challenges associated with regulating the country’s downstream petroleum industry.
Chief Executive Officer of the NPA, Dr. Mustapha Abdul Hamid, said a new law for the Authority will solve issues of fuel adulteration, tanker drivers breaking seals to cheat the system and all industry-related problems which have evolved over the years.
Speaking at the last stage of his five-region-tour since he assumed office, Dr. Hamid stated that he intends to achieve this at the end of his tenure.
Dr. Hamid and Directors of the NPA visited the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Limited office in Kumasi and the scene of a recent tanker fire at Kaase.
