The Fafali Organization on the 5th of March, 2022 organized the third (3rd) edition of the “Fafali Charity Walk & Run for Education” in the Kissehman community.
This event saw over five hundred (500) people in attendance with some dignified personalities like the Assembly member of the Anumle Electoral Area, the representative of the member of parliament for Okai-kwei north, SRC President of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, representatives from the Ghana Rugby League Federation, and a host of schools from the Kissehman community and its environs.
The purpose of this event was to seek donations of exercise books from various stakeholders to cater for a need (which is parents’ inability to purchase the required amount of exercise books for their wards), we also sought to create a euphoria of togetherness in our community through this walk and to offer children in the community the needed exposure where they can meet and interact with people from different walks of life.
Senyo Sosu, CEO of the Fafali Organization had some thankful messages for everybody that showed up in support of this event “I am very delighted to see that these number of people all showed up to offer their support for this noble organization. A few years back, it would have been difficult mobilizing all these people but this actually goes to prove how far we’ve come as an organization and I couldn’t be less happy”. He also admonished parents to make it a point to be there for their wards at all times as “caring parents tend to produce the best of children for our society”.

As we always do during events of this kind, we make sure to put our competitive attitudes to the test by organizing the 5km marathon events for the schools; their teachers (both Males and Females) as well as their students. We also got the community involved in our marathon event.
At the end of the marathon event, students from Jeremites academy swept the prizes for both the male and female categories, the teachers’ category saw only male participants and was won by a tutor from the St. James Academy. The community marathon surprisingly was won by Satya Den Boer, our volunteer from the Netherlands.
Another fascinating event that took place was our raffle event, where we give out cards with numbers from 1-100 and randomly call out a lucky number to receive a prize of brand new sportswear.
This year’s event was a successful one as we received a lot of exercise books and other stationaries from most participants and we hope that next year will even be bigger.

Some parents also shared their thoughts on the day’s event and its underlying significance.
“There isn’t much we could ask for from this organization, they have supported us through thick and thin to cater for our children” Helen Quarshie, a parent of one of our children in our golf & goal project. She added that “When they call on us as parents for support, it is only right to honor the invitation”.
Vinyo Kokuliku, a parent at the event also acknowledged how helpful the Fafali Organization has been to his family and the community as a whole and he hopes that “this is just the beginning of something special for years to come”.
This year’s event was to also pave way for our girl’s retreat program which is scheduled to take place from the 25th to the 27th of March at Oshun’s palace and Garden, East Legon. This is our flagship women empowerment project where we seek to educate our lovely young girls on issues of gender equality and how to break barriers in a gender-biased world.

The Fafali Organization is by this article also announcing that our registration portals are opened to children in Kissehman and its environs to enroll in our various projects; Ball & Brain project, Golf & Goal project, Website design class, Graphic design class, Basic computing class, etc. the only requirement for these children is to come with their parents to the office to fill out the forms.
We are once again grateful to the general public for their support for this year’s event and we hope to engage you more subsequently.
