Member of Parliament for Akim Oda Constituency, Alexander Akwasi Acquah has assured newly-promoted side Kotoko Royals of enough financial support to enable them stay in the Ghana Premier League for years.
The club became the first team in the constituency to secure promotion to the premiership and they need resources to survive the Ghana Premier League.
Some clubs have struggled to stay in the top-flight for long after earning promotion due to high financial demands for playing in the Premier League but the MP for the club's constituency, Hon. Acquah is promising financial assistance to prolong their stay in the league.
"We have actually locked ourselves up in the Ghana Premier League with a very huge padlock and we've thrown the keys down to the basis of the Birim River. What it means is that we are not getting out," he told Joy Sports.
"Whatever it takes to maintain ourselves and to sustain this position, we are going to do that.
"A lot of teams and clubs have suffered financially. We do not have issues with mobilising resources to ensure that this team gets sustained."
Kotoki Royals secured promotion to the Premier League after holding Tema Youth to a goalless draw in Tema.
