The ICGC Royal Temple has donated assorted food items to the Akropong School for the Blind in a bid to support them amidst the economic downturn.
The worsening economy has affected many including persons with disabilities. For the Akropong School for the Blind, feeding about 300 students has been a challenge.
It is on the back of this that The church donated assorted food items including 60 bags of rice, 50 tubers of yam, 60 loaves of bread, and other food items.

Speaking at the donation exercise which marks their 25th-anniversary celebration, the Chairperson of the anniversary committee, Margaret Awuku-Gyekye, stated that the exercise is to give back to society.
“Indeed, this is not our first time making such donations. Usually, we make it as part of the activities of the Anniversary to show some form of kindness to our society and to the needy.
"We believe it is biblical and we are required to do that. And as part of our influence, we make sure to extend a helping hand to the needy” she stated.
She also indicated that the church will support the completion of stalled projects to enhance teaching and learning.
Joseph Sowu, a teacher at the Akropong school for the blind also lamented about limited teaching and learning materials.
He thus urged government to provide instructional materials for teachers to enable them effectively.
The school prefect of the Akropong School for the Blind, Enoch Tudzi, expressed profound gratitude for the kind gesture.
