The Ghana Integrity Initiative, at a brief ceremony held on Friday, September 29, celebrated Mrs. Linda Ofori Kwafo, a former Executive Director of the organization, and Mrs Elsie Bunyan, a former Board Chairperson.
A citation that read “GII applauds your meritorious contribution to the fight against corruption and the significant contributions you made to the organization. We pay homage to you today 29th September 2023 as you have shown in words and works what it means to be diligent, devoted, and above all a person of integrity"was presented to Mrs Linda Ofori-Kwafo.
Mrs. Linda Ofori-Kwafo was engaged as the Executive Director of GII in March 2016 and served for 7 years until her resignation in June 2023.
During her period as Executive Director, she was elected to the Board of Transparency International (TI) and served on other known platforms.

She was the first woman from sub-Saharan Africa to have served on the TI Board since its formation in 1999. At the time of her departure, Mrs Kwafo was the sitting Board Chairperson of the Office of Special Prosecutor (OSP).
On the other hand, Mrs. Elsie Bunyan, the former Board Chairperson of GII led the governing Board of GII between December 2019 to December 2022. Prior to her appointment as the Board Chair, she served as the Vice Chairperson of the Board supporting the strategic direction of the organisation. Mrs. Bunyan joined GII as a member on September 9, 2009 and later became a Board member in April 2013.
With the pronounced contributions made by the two former leaders of the organization, the Board, Management, and Staff of GII deemed it befitting to honour them upon their exit. The event was also a platform used by GII to introduce Mrs. Mary Awelana Addah, the newly appointed Executive Director to its stakeholders.
In attendance were representatives of CSOs, members of the Diplomatic Corps, and GII’s partners in the public sector such as CHRAJ, OSP, NCCE, etc. The media and academia were not left out considering their roles and contributions to the fight against corruption.
