Several people sustained varying degrees of injuries following a road traffic accident involving a Toyota Hiace commercial vehicle and a Kia Sorento SUV at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.
The accident occurred today (August 11) in front of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service at Ejisu, a short distance from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Office.

The vehicles involved were a Toyota Hiace commercial van with registration number AS 3934-25 and a Kia Sorento SUV bearing registration number AS 2531-25.
Eyewitnesses said the collision occurred during busy traffic hours, drawing the attention of motorists, traders and residents in the area. Personnel from the MTTD quickly responded to the scene to manage traffic and assist victims.

The family travelling in the Kia Sorento SUV was rushed to the Ejisu Government Hospital for medical attention. Occupants of the Toyota Hiace, popularly known as a 'trotro', were also conveyed to the same facility, where doctors are currently attending to them.
The extent of the injuries sustained by the victims is yet to be officially disclosed. However, hospital authorities and emergency responders are working to ensure that all those affected receive the necessary treatment.

Meanwhile, officers from the MTTD have commenced investigations into the circumstances that led to the accident.
