Services Integrity Savings and Loans Limited has received an International Standards Organisation (ISO) certificate that indicates that it can manage its systems and information of clients.
This is part of a cyber-security requirement from the Bank of Ghana for financial service providers in the country.
Speaking to Joy Business at a short ceremony to receive the certificate from Certi Trust, Chief Executive of Services Integrity Savings and Loans Limited, Lydia Daddy said this is part of a commitment to ensure customers are fully protected.
“When the Bank of Ghana rolled out the new law on the cyber security requirement, we realised the need for us to get some training on how to safeguard our information systems and also to comply with the directive so we reached out through the Association of Savings and Loans and got the auditors to conduct the assessment for us. It has come as a relief for us because now we can assure our customers and partners that their data is secured with us both internally and externally”, she said.
The ISO certification 27001 complies with Bank of Ghana’s cyber security directive to all banks for an assured safety system.
Services Integrity Savings and Loans were assisted by Innovare and Certi–Trust for the auditing and requirement processes which took almost a year.
This achievement further indicates the company’s readiness to provide more secured financial services for its customers who are mostly in the security service.
After presenting the certificate, Regional Director for Certi-trust, Anglophone Mike Kamau challenged the company to do more to improve upon the services so it can achieve higher certifications afterward.
Services Integrity Savings and Loans Limited is a licensed specialized deposit-taking institution owned by the Ghana Armed Forces.
