The Chief Executive of the Ghana Telecommunications Chamber, Ken Ashigbe, has revealed that Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) have fully restored data services to their subscribers.
“The Mobile Network Operators with Subsea cable landing services and their international partners have decided to re-route services through Angola, Brazil and Togo when it comes to data services to Ghana”, he mentioned.
Ing Dr. Ken Ashigbe disclosed this on PM EXPRESS BUSINESS on March 21 2024.
Ign. Dr. Ashigbe noted that the speeds are back, “But we are depending on other partners outside the country to make data services feasible”.
“I think that the industry should be applauded for the work we have done within this short time, rather than the push for compensation by some, because this is what was caused by nature”, he pointed out.
Ign. Dr. Ashigbey assured that MNOs are committed to working very hard to ensure the concerns of subscribers are addressed during these times.
“Lessons have been learned to try and minimise the impact of any future shocks or challenge”, the CEO of the Telecoms Chamber added.
