The Visionary Norman Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the well-being of underserved communities, has made a significant impact on the lives of students at Kyeaboso D/A Basic School by providing a range of educational supplies and conducting eye screening for students, reinforcing its mission to uplift disadvantaged children in rural Ghana.
The foundation’s donations included essential school supplies such as uniforms, shoes, bags, exercise books, pens, and pencils.
The provision of these items sought to address the immediate needs of students who face significant financial barriers to accessing basic educational materials. Volunteers carefully distributed the items, ensuring that each student received the correct sizes and essentials, a process that brought visible excitement to the young beneficiaries.

Mr Gabriel Dwomoh, the headmaster of Kyeaboso D/A Basic School, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the foundation's support, acknowledging the profound impact it would have on the student’s educational experience. "These supplies will make a world of difference for many of our students who previously lacked basic items," he remarked. Volunteers at the event were equally moved, with one describing the atmosphere as electric with joy. “The smiles on their faces made every effort worthwhile,” a volunteer said.
Among the recipients were students who previously attended school wearing worn-out shoes or slippers. For them, the new uniforms and shoes marked a tangible step towards a more dignified and comfortable school experience. Some students also took the opportunity to personally thank the foundation and its founder, Mr Abraham Norman Nortey, for the life-changing donations.

Beyond providing educational materials, the Visionary Norman Foundation extended its outreach to meet the health needs of the students through a free eye screening exercise. An optometrist was on-site to conduct vision tests for students and even a teacher, offering a critical service in a region where access to eye care is limited.
The eye screening included detailed eye tests and basic ophthalmological examinations, designed to detect potential vision problems that could hinder students' learning progress.

Mr Abraham Norman Nortey emphasized the importance of addressing both the educational and health needs of the students, explaining that untreated vision problems could severely impede academic performance. “We believe that providing children with the right educational tools and ensuring their health is paramount to their success. We are committed to making sure that no child is left behind,” he said.
The initiative was warmly welcomed by both the school and the broader community. Mr Dwomoh praised the foundation for its comprehensive approach, noting that the combination of educational and health support would have lasting benefits for the children. “This is not just about giving out supplies; it’s about giving our children a chance at a better future,” he added.
Also present at the event was Mr Michael Gyabeng, the School Inspection Support Officer (SISO) for the Dompoase North Circuit. He commended the Visionary Norman Foundation for bridging critical gaps in rural education and healthcare, observing that these efforts directly support community development.

“This intervention addresses two of the most pressing needs in our schools—access to learning materials and health care. The foundation has done an exemplary job,” he said.
The efforts of the Visionary Norman Foundation align closely with global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education, and SDG 3, which promotes good health and well-being. By equipping students with the resources they need to succeed academically and providing access to vital healthcare services, the foundation is making a measurable contribution to these objectives.
Reflecting on the day’s events, a volunteer said, “There’s no greater satisfaction than seeing the positive impact of our work in real-time. Today was a reminder of how much we can achieve when we come together to support those in need.”
The Visionary Norman Foundation continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to uplifting communities in rural Ghana, combining educational support with health services to create a holistic approach to development.
The organization remains a beacon of hope for many underserved communities, working to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
