Ghanaian forward Jerry Afriyie has completed a move from lower-tier club Thoughts FC to Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah FC, signing a contract that runs until 2028.
As part of the deal, the 20-year-old striker will join Spanish third-tier club CD Lugo on loan for the remainder of the season to continue his development.
Afriyie’s rise has been fueled by a string of stellar performances over the past year, cementing his reputation as one of Ghana's brightest prospects.
He was instrumental in Ghana’s gold medal win at the African Games, scoring the decisive goal in the final against Uganda.
Earlier at the 2024 WAFU B U-20 Championship in Togo, he earned the Best Player award and the Golden Boot, netting five goals in five matches as Ghana finished as runners-up.
Afriyie is expected to gain valuable experience in Spain before joining Al Qadsiya next season.
