Ghanaian rising star Kwesi Dain has once again captured hearts with the release of his latest single, "Atanfo" — a deeply introspective track that goes beyond surface-level struggles to explore the emotional complexities of battling both external opposition and internal demons.
The song, which translates to “Enemies” in English, draws inspiration from personal growth and the emotional toll of self-doubt.
Much like Imagine Dragons’ Enemy, which delves into the difficulty of trusting oneself in a world full of chaos, Kwesi Dain’s Atanfo echoes similar themes of vulnerability and self-reclamation.
“Atanfo” is about taking your power back. Keep going. Losing will not dictate your life, and your life is in your hands. Always remember you are the creator. Believe in yourself and keeping working hard, everything will be fine.” Kwesi Dain said.
Born Isaac Owusu Twum, the singer, rapper, songwriter, and recording artiste is no stranger to resilience. Professionally known as Kwesi Dain, his journey began during his time at Osei Tutu Boys School, where he started rapping and recording music using his sister’s phone.
He would later upload his raw, emotion-filled verses to ySoundCloud, slowly building a following that would push him into the limelight.
Kwesi Dain’s big break came in 2021with the release of his debut single “Daben”, a fan-favourite that shot to the top of the charts on platforms like Apple Music, Shazam. and Audiomack.
Since then, he has continued to prove himself as one of the most promising voices in Ghana’s music scene.
