The Chief Executive Officer of Westec Security Systems (GH) Ltd, Mrs Esther Boakye, has been honoured with the prestigious “Woman of Excellence Award” at the maiden edition of the Ghana Executive Awards 2025.
Held at the Labadi Beach Hotel on May 16, 2025, and organised by Globe Productions, the awards ceremony celebrated leaders across various sectors who have demonstrated outstanding achievement, innovation, and leadership in Ghana’s corporate space.
Mrs Boakye’s recognition stands as a remarkable testament to her distinguished leadership in the private security industry — a sector traditionally dominated by men. Under her guidance, Westec Security Systems has grown into one of Ghana’s leading private security firms, known for its strategic initiatives, sustainability-driven operations, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
“I am incredibly grateful for this recognition,” Mrs Boakye said in an interview after receiving the award. “I dedicate this award to our entire team of dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to provide the highest level of security for all.”
The Woman of Excellence Award celebrates female trailblazers in Corporate Ghana who are excelling in leadership roles and driving positive impact within their organisations. Mrs Boakye was honoured for her role in establishing Westec’s strategic direction, championing sustainable practices, and ensuring operational efficiency.
“This award symbolises our team’s dedication to excellence in every aspect of our operations,” she noted. “We remain committed to advancing Ghana’s security sector through our core values of sustainability, professionalism, innovation, teamwork, client focus, and excellence.”
Mrs Boakye holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Marketing from the University of Cape Coast. She is a devout Christian, happily married, and a proud mother of three daughters.
Her latest achievement reinforces the growing importance of women's leadership in key sectors and showcases how vision, discipline, and innovation can pave the way for lasting success in even the most challenging industries.
