Danish youth international of Ghanaian descent, Michael Opoku, has completed a move to Norwegian Eliteserien side Sarpsborg 08.
The forward joins the club in a permanent deal for the 2025/26 season, bolstering the club’s options ahead of the second half of the season.
Opoku signs a contract until June 2028.
The 20-year-old, who has represented Denmark at various youth levels, joins from Danish outfit FC Lyngby, where he developed through the ranks and gained a reputation as a technically gifted and versatile player.
Opoku is known for his composure on the ball, intelligent positioning, and ability to link play between defence and attack, mainly being deployed on the left wing.
Sarpsborg 08 see the signing as part of their long-term strategy to invest in young, high-potential talents who can make an immediate impact while also developing further in the competitive Norwegian league.
Last season, the youngster scored four goals in 10 starts for Lyngby in the Danish top flight.
Opoku, despite representing Denmark at the youth level, is eligible to play for Ghana in the future.
