Abugum Company Limited has released a statement expressing its deepest condolences after the tragic helicopter disaster that claimed the lives of eight people, including two state ministers, on August 6, 2025.
The company's managing director, Joseph Abugum, conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the President, the government, the bereaved families, and the entire nation.
The crash, which involved a Ghana Air Force Harbin Z-9 helicopter, occurred on a forested mountainside in the Ashanti Region.
The victims, who were on a national assignment to address issues related to illegal mining, included Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.
The rest were Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, NDC Vice Chairman Dr. Samuel Sarpong, former parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye, and three Ghana Air Force crew members: Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
In its condolence message, Abugum Company Limited prayed for God's comfort and strength for all those affected by the "unimaginable loss".

The company, a key stakeholder in road construction and buildings, acknowledged the departed persons' legacies and expressed its sincerest support during this difficult time.
The incident has been described as a national tragedy, with the government declaring three days of national mourning and an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
