Government has pledged its readiness to partner the Ghana Employers Association (GEA) in tackling employment challenges and create more job opportunities for Ghanaians.
The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Dr. Abdul Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, said government is committed to engaging the Association on practical solutions to help members overcome bottlenecks in the labour market.
Speaking to Joy Business on the sidelines of the Association’s 65th Annual General Meeting in Accra, Dr. Pelpuo stressed that collaboration with the private sector is key to expanding decent and sustainable employment.
“Government is prepared to work closely with employers to address the challenges they face and ensure that we create more jobs for our people,” he assured.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Employers Association, Alex Frimpong has called on government to ensure stability of the Ghana cedi.
He said that currency fluctuations remain a major concern for businesses, eroding competitiveness and undermining growth.
The 65th AGM brought together captains of industry, policymakers and labour experts to deliberate on strategies to strengthen the business environment and drive inclusive growth.
