Ghana is poised to become the epicentre of the global Pentecostal movement as the Global Chairman of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship (WAGF), Reverend Dominic Yeo, touched down in Accra today.
Rev. Yeo's high-profile visit is specifically to officially launch the 2026 World Congress—a massive international gathering that will see thousands of delegates descend upon the nation.

Rev. Yeo, who also serves as the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Singapore, arrived accompanied by his wife and was received at the airport by the host, Reverend Stephen Wengam, the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana.

Before the official launch of the World Congress, the global leadership is immediately engaging with the local church through a specialised, two-day event aimed at bolstering pastoral strength and institutional strategy.

The General Council of Assemblies of God, Ghana, is hosting a Marriage and Leaders Seminar at the prestigious Cedar Mountain Chapel in East Legon, Accra.
- Dates: The seminar opens today, Thursday, November 13, 2025, and concludes tomorrow, Friday, November 14, 2025.
- Participants: The detailed programme is designed for pastors and their spouses, alongside other key church leaders, emphasising the crucial link between stable ministerial homes and effective church leadership.

The Road to the 2026 World Congress
The official launch ceremony for the 2026 World Congress is scheduled for tomorrow, marking the beginning of Ghana’s preparations to host delegates from the over 170 nations where the Assemblies of God Fellowship operates.

The WAGF represents the world’s largest Pentecostal denomination, boasting an estimated membership of over 70 million adherents globally.

Hosting the World Congress will significantly boost Ghana's religious tourism sector and reaffirms the country's prominent position as a major centre for Christian revival and Pentecostal faith on the African continent.
