The Chartered Insurance Ladies Association Ghana (CILAG) on Wednesday, December 18, held its induction for newly elected executives alongside a Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at the National Insurance Commission (NIC) Auditorium in Accra.
The event, held under the theme “Gratitude for a Decade of Excellence: Shaping, Empowering, and Securing the Future of the Professional,” marked a significant milestone in the association’s 10-year journey of professional impact and leadership development.
The Chairman of the occasion, Shaibu Ali, immediate past President of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ghana (IBAG), commended CILAG for its consistency, professionalism, and contribution to the growth of the insurance industry. He reaffirmed IBAG’s continued support for the association and underscored the importance of strong collaboration among industry stakeholders.
The inducted executives were Nicholina Naa Yeye Adumuah, the Central Regional Manager of the NIC, as President, Shneida Akomaning-Boadu of Hedge Risk Consult Ltd. as Vice President. The rest are Jane Afua Derx of First Anchor Risk Management and Insurance Brokers as General Manager, Muriel Ama Akaaba Ashong of SIC Insurance PLC as Assistant General Manager, Portia Abrefi Kyei of SIC Life Insurance Ltd as Financial Secretary, Linda Dzilanyo Ahiatsi of Priority Insurance Ltd as Assistant Financial Secretary, Nana Nyarkomaa Obeng of StarLife Assurance Ltd as Project Officer, Nana Akosua Serwaa Asare of Phoenix Insurance Co. In her keynote address after the induction, President Nicholina Naa Yeye Adumuah reflected on CILAG’s growth from a small network of professionals to a nationally and internationally recognized association with over 400 members.
She highlighted key achievements, including mentorship initiatives, industry advocacy, international representation, and social impact projects such as fundraising support for childhood cancer patients. She reaffirmed the association’s commitment to integrity, professional excellence, and giving women in insurance a strong, confident voice in industry discourse over the next two years.
The second part of the event focused on the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, creating a reflective and celebratory atmosphere. Scripture readings and carols emphasised gratitude, renewal, and service, aligning with the association’s decade-long journey.

This was followed by the presentation of citations in recognition of outstanding contributions to CILAG and the insurance profession.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a closing prayer, bringing the evening to a solemn and meaningful close.
The 2025 CILAG induction and carols ceremony not only celebrated leadership transition but also reaffirmed the association’s mission to shape, empower, and secure the future of women professionals in Ghana’s insurance industry.
