The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has said that New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates are largely guided by one key factor when choosing a presidential candidate: the ability to win the 2028 national elections.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Dankwah explained that findings from a recent survey indicate that 23% of delegates consider a candidate’s electability as the most important quality influencing their choice.
Other considerations highlighted by the survey include caring for the grassroots (17%), bringing change (16%), uniting the party (16%), and trustworthiness (11%). Humility accounted for 8%, while other factors made up 7%. Only 2% of delegates prioritised a candidate being a “fighter.”
Mr. Dankwah noted that the results suggest NPP delegates focus more on a candidate’s ability to win elections than on personality traits or confrontational politics.
