Chelsea striker Tyrique George has revealed that his mother is a Ghanaian, potentially opening the door for a future nationality switch.
George joined Everton on loan on transfer deadline day and in his first interview, indicated that he was born to a Ghanaian mother and a Nigerian father.
The striker featured 11 times for Chelsea during the first half of the season, scoring against Lincoln City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Ajax.
He also already earned his first England Under-21 caps, scoring twice in four appearances for the Young Lions. He has also represented England at U16, U17, U18, and U19 levels before playing for the U21 in the European Under-21 Championship qualifiers in late 2025.
With no senior appearance for England to his name yet, George is eligible to represent either Ghana or Nigeria if he completes a nationality switch.
