Ghana has reinforced its reputation as a leading destination for sustainable mining investment and a key voice in African mineral policy at the 2026 Invest in Africa Mining Indaba in Cape Town, South Africa.
The country used the high-profile forum to present its long-term vision for responsible resource development and regional cooperation.
The delegation was led by the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, and comprised heads of major institutions driving Ghana’s mining and minerals agenda.

These included Isaac Tandoh of the Minerals Commission, Ama Mawusi Mawuenyefia of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP), Dr Prosper Akaba of the Ghana Geological Survey Authority, and Williams Okofo-Dateh of the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation (GIISDEC).
Through a series of strategic bilateral meetings and engagements, the delegation highlighted Ghana’s commitment to domestic value addition, responsible mining practices, and the development of integrated mineral value chains.

The discussions also underscored the importance of aligning national mineral strategies with broader continental goals.
Ghana’s participation at the Indaba reflected a coordinated and forward-looking approach, positioning the country not only as a stable and attractive investment destination but also as a thought leader in shaping Africa’s collective mineral development agenda.
