Two persons have been confirmed dead, while 14 others sustained injuries following a road accident on the Ho–Aflao Highway in the Volta Region.
The crash occurred when a Ford Transit vehicle with registration number VR-322-20 collided with a Honda Civic, registration number GN-1166-16.
Preliminary information indicates that the Ford Transit, which was transporting passengers, crashed into the saloon car while attempting to overtake another vehicle.

The impact left several occupants trapped in the wreckage, prompting an emergency response.
Rescue personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service rushed to the scene shortly after receiving a distress call and worked swiftly to extricate victims from the damaged vehicles.
Fourteen injured persons were rescued and transported to nearby health facilities for medical treatment, while two victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident caused temporary disruption to traffic along the busy highway as emergency responders secured the area and assisted victims.
Authorities are yet to release the identities of the deceased. Investigations are underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
