Rapper Asem, who has been absent from the music scene for some years now, has laughed off concerns from the general public that he might be sick.
Recent photographs of the rapper, born Nana Wiafe Asante Mensah, has generated huge discussions on social media with many alleging that the rapper’s drastic weight loss might be as a result of an ailment.
Asem, known to be one of Ghana’s formidable artistes, has been absent from the music scene. His absence after the release of ‘Wasted’ in 2013 has been of great concern to many.
Many have attributed his silence to ill-health, but the rapper in a recent Facebook post said he is in the best shape of his life.
In the post, the ‘Bye Bye’ hit singer laughed off the rumours, saying his drastic weight loss was deliberate.
“They say I've grown too slim, Like i give a [hoot].. what you think I laugh soo hard my six packs crack lmao. For lack of knowledge oh my people, rather in shape than overweight, loosing weight is very difficult guys, alot of sacrifice and healthy eating, takes alot of discipline, I struggled to get to this point and the pay off is amazing,” he said.
Asem added that, “Always try to be on the losing side, gaining weight is soo easy any fool can achieve that. To all those who live this healthy life I say kudos you're on the right path, to rest of y' all who still don't get it, still don't exercise and classify junk food as good living I can only feel sorry.”
The rapper is currently in the United States.
