Adisadel College has emerged winners of this year’s National Science & Maths Quiz with 44 points, beating closest contender Opoku Ware Secondary with six points to lift the coveted trophy.
This is the first time the Central Region-based school has won the title.
Mfantsipim School placed third with 37 points, just one point ahead of Opoku Ware Secondary School.
Adisadel College gets GHȻ40,000, a trophy, books and an acre of land, while the two students who represented the school -- Ridley Annin Osei Assibey and Isaac Amofa K. Mensah -- get GHȻ25,000 each. The teachers get GHȻ30,000 and bags of rice.

The event, which came off at the R. S Amegashie Auditorium of the University of Ghana, Legon drew a packed audience as the three schools juggled it out at the finals of this year’s competition.
The winners reached the finals by beating Kumasi Secondary Technical School and Accra Academy, while Opoku Ware School dominated Kumasi High School and St. Hubert Min. Seminary Senior High School in the semi-finals.

Mfantsipim School also reached the Grand Finale after trouncing Ghana National College and St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School.

The National Science & Maths Quiz aims at promoting the study of the Sciences and Mathematics.
