Former Black Stars captain, C.K Akunnor, says the Black Stars will need a sound mind devoid of any politics to ensure qualification to their fourth straight World Cup.
The 2018 World Cup Qualifiers started on a jittery note as Ghana were held by Uganda at home.
Several factions have been blamed for the defeat but the Dreams FC coach does not want to be drawn into the blame game.
For him, the players need a sound mind to play and as he seeks an amicable resolution to the conflict.
“We have to plan very well to get a good result against Egypt,” Akunnor told Asempa Sports.
“I think we did things right but the Ugandans really prepared to come into the game and in the first half they made things very difficult for us but in the second half we pressed them but we couldn’t get any goal.
"Playing away to Egypt, we will need very good preparation or things might get worse for us. I don’t want to say that the impasse between the FA and the Ministry of Youth and Sports has led to this but I will say the impasse needs to come to end because the players need a sound mind to play,".
Akonnour was captain of the Black Stars before Stephen Appiah took over.
