One person has reportedly been shot dead in Tamale by military personnel tasked to restore order. Joy News Mahama Shaibu confirmed the incident in an interview late Tuesday evening. The victim is among riotous Andani youth protesting the acquitting and discharge of 14 Abudu members charged with the murder of the Ya-Na Yakubu Andani. The youth burnt down the regional office of the National Democratic Congress Office in Tamale before proceeding to the constituency office where they reportedly took out computers and other materials from the office and burnt them. Their action is in protest against the government who they accuse of reneging on its promise to provide justice for the family of the late of Ya-Na. According to Mahama Shaibu the youth took over the streets, burnt tires and mounted several blockades. Their action forced the Military to intervene and restore order, but one of the riotous youth was said to have been fired in the process. The military is yet to react to the situation.
