Day 3 of the ongoing 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow ended in disappointment for Team Ghana, with none of the country's athletes meeting the qualifying standard or advancing in their respective events.

In the pool, Nubia Adjei finished eighth in Heat 4 of the women's 50m butterfly, clocking a time of 30.02 seconds.

Hopes then shifted to Ghana's swimming star , Abeku Jackson, who was expected to boost the team's fortunes. However, he also fell short, placing seventh in his heat of the men's 50m backstroke and failing to progress.

In boxing, Nancy Bamfo suffered a unanimous points defeat to Northern Ireland's Nicole Clyde in the women's 54kg Round of 16. Clyde dominated the contest from start to finish, leaving the Ghanaian boxer unable to mount a successful challenge.

Adelaide Dede Djabatey also exited the competition after losing by unanimous decision to Fiji's Jasmine Duanakamakama.

Attention now turns to Day 4, where Team Ghana will be hoping for a stronger showing on the track. National 100m record holder Abdul Rasheed Saminu, alongside Benjamin Azamati and Isaac Botsio, is expected to compete in the men's 100m heats as Ghana looks to revive its campaign.
