The country’s security chiefs have met to discuss ways of dealing with the recent spate of contract killings.Joy News can confirm that those who attended the meeting this afternoon included the interior minister, national security and defence ministers, the inspector general of police and military intelligence officials.Sources have told Joy News that government is preparing to make an official statement on the matter on Thursday.For now, most government officials and high ranking police officers Joy News contacted have declined to comment.Early Tuesday morning, a retired civil servant was gunned down in his house at Tema community 9 by unknown assailants. Three weeks back the Deputy Managing Director of the Ghana Commercial Bank, Mr Rokko Frimpong was also murdered in a similar way.
