Former Ghana striker, Matthew Amoah, believes unity in the Black Stars can revive the fortunes of the Black Stars.
Ghana has seen a slump which has been visible in the FIFA rankings as well as a potential failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
The team failed to win the 2017 AFCON in a tournament marked by drab displays, a situation which is highly uncharacteristic of Ghana.
There seems to be a wind of change in the team with the return of Kwesi Appiah as coach. His debut game went according to plan with the team beating Ethiopia 5-0 in a breath taking display of attacking soccer.
But more importantly, the fans who had lost interest in the team, went to the stadium in their numbers.
And for Amoah, it is a step in the right direction but the team will have to be united on the field to ensure success.
“Football is all about team work and if the Black Stars come together as a family as we did years before, I think they can do better,” Amoah said.
He added “they have to be committed, fight for each other and be there for one another.”
Matthew Amoah was an integral member of the Black Stars that qualified for the World Cup in 2006.
