Professor Manuel Adjei, President of the Ghana Christian University College has opened the Ho Campus of the college with a call on pastors to constantly equip themselves to transform society by imparting righteousness.
He said the days when pastors claimed they were called and did not avail themselves to any theological tuition was past and gone and that there was the need for all aspiring to do God’s work to be equipped.
The ceremony, which coincided with the first graduation of 13 pioneering students of the Campus, was on the theme "Advancing God’s Kingdom and Transforming Society Through Equipped Leaders".
Professor Adjei underscored the importance of Theological education to the social, economic, religious and political development of the country and appealed for support from all stakeholders.
He advised pastors to interpret the scripture as it is and not in their own ways.
He urged them to remain agents of change with proven characters to draw many to the Kingdom of God.
Professor Adjei said the GCUC sought to be an important player in shaping the future of Christian leadership development in the country and called on youths to take advantage of the College.
Reverend John Avorgah, a Lecturer at the Regent University College expressed worry about the indecent dressing of some Christian women.
Reverend Jerry Wedanu, Acting Volta Regional Director of the College said though the College’s facility were not yet up to standard, it could boast of qualified lecturers and a good curriculum.
The graduates were later presented with certificates and charged to carry the word of God to the world and be reminded that they are servants and must not lord their leadership over their congregations.
