Ghana’s embassy goes to the rescue of eight Ghanaian teachers stranded in china
The Ghana embassy in China has intervened in the case of eight stranded Ghanaian teachers.The embassy officials have reportedly asked the agent of the travel and tour company, Litina to as a matter of urgency prepare exist visas for the teachers.
According to the eight teachers they were recruited by Litina travel agency to teach English in China and paid an amount of four thousand dollars each to the travel agency but the promised jobs never materialized on their arrival in china.
The Ghana embassy in China has made an assurance to take charge of the cost and the processing of their exit visa excluding their return tickets.
“We are hoping that on Monday, they will come for us to process our exit visa’’ Charles Appiah, one of the stranded teachers in Jina Province in China hinted,
.The agent made a confirmation that he is working to return the stranded teachers. But Kofi Kio said the teachers would have to fund their own return ticket.
Meanwhile, the Director of Passport, Parker Allotey on the super morning show today warned the public against providing wrong information on their guarantors when filling passport forms.
According to him guarantors have the responsibility to provide assistance to passport holders who get stranded and not government.
