After putting up a gallant display despite all the odds, Asante Kotoko coach, Steve Pollack, had nothing but praise for his team.

The Porcupine Warriors fought from a goal down to share the spoils with their rivals who had the advantage of several match practice heading into the game.

Kotoko held their own in the tie and at points were unplayable much to the delight of the fans. Their second half was a delight and the British coach admits they could have had more after that showing.

“Well if you look at the both halves, maybe, first half they had it a little bit and second half before they scored we had it under control. One break and they scored and after they scored and after they scored we put the pressure on again,” Pollack said after the game.

“If you look at the chances first half, they had two, we had two and in the second half they had one, we had a penalty. Is it a penalty? It doesn’t matter, the referee has given a penalty so I can’t say it wasn’t or it was. I just want to say I’m proud of my players, the attitude they showed today especially in the second half.”

Coming on the back of a tragic accident, Pollack stated his players were always going to be affected by that in the opening half but praised the reaction in the aftermath.

“I knew the second half was going to take time after what happened, to get into the game and have a goal. I’m proud of them, the attitude, desire and passion to come back and get a point I am very happy and also I want to thank the supporters. They came out in their hundreds.”

Kotoko have another outstanding game against WAFA in Sogakope.
