Former Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has slammed the Ghana Football Association following the Black Stars ‘’B’’ failure to reach the 2018 African Nations Championship.
Ghana shockingly missed out on qualification for the second straight time after a 4-3 aggregate defeat against Burkina Faso.
And according to the Member of Parliament for Odododiodio constituency, it came as no surprise to him, adding that the result was a true reflection of the poor state of football in the country.
“I was expecting us to qualify after drawing 2-2 away, but I’m not surprised because this is what I have been talking about for a while now”, he told Joy FM.
“If we continue to develop the “cow dung” management style over the management of our football we will always reap this result”.
“It is not well with our football, it is only hypocrites who are always saying all is well and when you talk about it, they will send their “hawks” to radio stations to insult you”.
His latest comments is the latest in the on-going feud between the former Minister and the Ghana Football Association. There has been no love lost between both parties and Ghana's failure in the qualifiers might add substance to what Nii Lantey.
He brings a different angle to the whole situation after most of the blame was attributed to Maxwell Konadu for poor player selection and favoritism.
